🚀 From One Computer to a Leading Agency: The Early Days

Founded in November 2009, Canada Destino began as a one-person venture—just Sandra Teixeira and a computer in a small room lent by a friend.

With a strong background in international education and early experience working with Canadian institutions, Sandra saw a clear opportunity to create something different in Brazil: an agency fully specialized in Canada.

That opportunity became even more evident when the Canadian government shut down the Canadian Education Centre Network (CEC Network), a long-standing initiative promoting Canadian education abroad. Sandra decided it was time to take the leap and start her own company.

From that moment, Canada Destino began its journey toward becoming one of Brazil’s most respected agencies focused exclusively on Canada.

🎯 Laying the Foundation: Programs, Purpose, and Early Challenges

From the start, Canada Destino offered a wide range of programs: ESL, French, high school, summer camps, and vocational courses. However, the agency quickly became known for higher education—a natural fit, as Sandra had studied in Vancouver at Capilano University in 2005.

Her firsthand experience gave her the confidence and credibility to guide students through the Canadian college and university system.

At the time, managing quotations was a real challenge. Sandra created each quote manually using a Word document that included images and descriptions of the schools, with an Excel spreadsheet embedded in the middle to show pricing. “It was horrible,” she recalled.

Each school had its template, and the process was repetitive, time-consuming, and far from efficient. Not only did it demand hours of manual work, but the final result often lacked the polished, user-friendly presentation that students, and especially mobile users, expect today.

🛠️ The Edvisor Effect: From Game-Changer to Daily Essential

In 2013, Sandra attended a seminar at the Canadian Consulate in São Paulo, where Nicolas Miller introduced Edvisor

The concept of a platform that centralized all school information—quotations, pictures, videos—immediately caught her attention. “I didn’t blink. I signed up on the spot,” she laughed, remembering how quickly she made the decision.

Edvisor revolutionized Canada Destino’s workflow. What once took hours—building quotations manually using Word and Excel—was now possible in just a few clicks.

No more outdated PDFs or heavy attachments. Instead, students received professional, mobile-friendly links with everything they needed to make a decision. According to Sandra, this shift significantly improved the agency’s efficiency and boosted conversion rates: “From Excel files to this? 100% improvement.”

Today, Canada Destino uses Edvisor every single day—especially for generating quotations for language programs, high schools, and private post-secondary institutions.

The team also relies on  EdWallet and uses Edvisor’s task features to track quote validity and follow up with clients. “This follow-up helps us a lot,” Sandra notes.

Looking ahead, Sandra shared that her team is also exploring the integration of EdCommerce into their website, an option that would allow students to browse and buy programs online in a more automated way.

For an agency deeply committed to operational efficiency, it's a natural next step in their digital evolution.

As she puts it simply, “If the school isn’t on Edvisor, we don’t send it to the client. It’s too much work.” That level of integration shows just how essential Edvisor has become to Canada Destino's daily operations.

🌎 Recognition and Vision: A Partnership That Keeps Evolving

This year, Canada Destino’s long-standing commitment and partnership with Edvisor were officially recognized at EdSummit’25 Brazil, where the agency received the Lifetime Partner Award

This prestigious recognition celebrated not only their early adoption of the platform but also their continuous feedback, advocacy, and alignment with Edvisor’s mission to transform international education.

With a clear vision and the right tools, Canada Destino has streamlined operations, improved conversion rates, and scaled its impact.

Backed by Edvisor, Sandra and her team continue to deliver measurable results, connecting more Brazilian students with quality education in Canada every day.
